On the evening of December 12, 2025, at the historic venue of the Temple of Literature – Imperial Academy, the EU–Vietnam Sustainable Design Awards 2025 officially concluded, marking a meaningful milestone in honoring design thinking for a sustainable future.

The event underscored the European Union’ s strong commitment to accompanying Vietnam on its journey toward green transition and sustainable development through the Global Gateway strategy and the campaign ''Press Connect – Switch Change.''

The event is an occasion to honor outstanding projects in four categories: Architecture, Product Design, Communication Design, Innovation.

Temple of Literature – Imperial Academy,

the Vietnam's first university.

  • An icon of knowledge, creativity, and Vietnamese culture.

  • In 1076, King Ly Nhan Tong established the Temple of Literature, which can be regarded as the first university in Vietnam. Initially, the school was reserved exclusively for the sons of the king.

  • In 1253, King Tran Thai Tong transformed the Imperial Academy into the National Academy, expanding its scope to admit even the children of commoners with outstanding academic ability.

Mr. Julien Guerrier, EU Ambassador to Vietnam, delivered the opening speech at the event.

a notable artistic highlight will return to the stage: the contemporary ballet “Dó”, a work that left a strong impression on audiences when it was introduced by the Delegation of the European Union during Europe Day 2024.
a notable artistic highlight will return to the stage: the contemporary ballet “Dó”, a work that left a strong impression on audiences when it was introduced by the Delegation of the European Union during Europe Day 2024.

Its presence at EVSDA extends beyond performance alone. “Dó” resonates directly with the journey of EVSDA 2025, where dó papers have undergone multiple transformations from workshops to spatial design and exhibition elements. They embodies the principle of extending material life cycles within sustainable design.

Presented within the historic setting of the Temple of Literature, the work opens a new dialogue between Vietnam’s educational heritage and European classical arts, between traditional materials and contemporary expression. At this point of convergence, “Dó” becomes a natural bridge linking cultural values with the sustainable design philosophy at the heart of EVSDA.

From cherished moments with my daughter

to the square of Vietnam’s first university.

We, the Vooc design team, are proud to be part of this incredible project.

From the initial idea of creating a pair of glasses that could “ survive ” the spontaneous actions of our two years old daughter, we have developed solutions for everyday life, not only serving ourselves but also bringing practical benefits to customers in the US, Japan and Europe.

Sustainable happiness will be created by directly developing tools that help our own lives. With the support of modern technology and the craftsmanship of the Vietnamese people, we believe these elements are the key to adapting to market changes.

With freedom spirit at the core,

we turn daily challenges into incredible journeys.
